Eligibility for Students for Study in Australia

 Students who want to study in Australia must meet the these specific requirements to be eligible for this visa.
1-Accepted in full-time study

You have to choose full-time study programs in a registered course or part of a registered course to be eligible for student visa.

Note: A registered course for study which is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). 
You also can choose educational institute and course of study of your choice at the official website of Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).



2-Financial requirements
All candidates students must be financially strong and able to bear all the costs of traveling to Australia, tuition and living expenses for yourself, your partner and dependent children for the duration of your stay in Australia whether they are travelling with you or not.

Here the table below shows the minimum amounts which are required for Student Visa for Australia. This amount is in Australian dollars (AUD).

If you’ve applied to a study program which is less than a year then you can’t accompany your family members with you. But you have to proof that you can support your family members in your home country during your stay in Australia.

3-Fully Funded Students

If you are a fully funded student by any sponsoring agency or company, you have to show proof that the sponsoring body, government or organization will bear all the cost of traveling, tuition fee and living expenses for yourself and dependent family members accompanying you to Australia and also supporting your dependent family members remaining in your home country, taking into consideration the local standard of living.

Note: If family members later decide to join you in Australia, you must show evidence of extra funds from an acceptable source to cover their travel, tuition and living expenses in Australia.

4-Health requirements

You have to undergo a health examination to get student visa for Australia and you must meet the certain health requirements which are necessary for the student visa.

These health requirements vary according to following bases:

5-Your length of stay in Australia.
Other health risks in your home country or countries you have visited for more than three months within the last five years.
Health examinations can be completed before you lodge your visa application, but no more than six months before your course starts.

6-Health Insurance

You must have health insurance while in Australia. Health insurance can be provided by obtaining Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) which provides medical and hospital insurance. You can ask your education provider to organize OSHC for you, or you can select an approved OSHC provider yourself and pay the insurance.

7-Exceptions:

You do not need OSHC if you are:

A Norwegian student covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme.
A Swedish student covered by the National Board of Student Aid or by Kammarkollegiet.
When you lodge your application, you must provide a receipt or other proof of your OSHC payment. The OSHC should commence when you arrive in Australia.

8-English language skills
